Setting up your Social Media for Success! by AJMichiels

Start with a Warm Audience!

How you can use your Facebook, Instagram or other platfoms to grow your BiZ! Having an audience is AMAZING but having an engaged, pre=sold clients, and ideal clients is what is going to help your biz skyrocket!

Firstly, make sure you know who you are marketing to. Who is your ideal client? How old? What are their likes? What kind of products/services do they need? By creating an "avator" or profile of an ideal client, it will help you know what content/style to post to attract a warm audience!

It's best to pick a platform that has your ideal clients in it, start with just one and expand out. Most of us just post everywhere hoping it will stick. But if you are promoting to everyone, you are infact promoting to noone. Put your efforts into creating a system, that has your ideal warm clients in it in the first place. That way when you share your posts you will get a positive and lucrative engagement.

  • Remember just because you have lots of followers and group members, doesn't mean they are engaging or your ideal buyer.

When the audience is engaged they can effectively spread the word about your promos, new products, and anything else you are selling ie Programs. But simply having 1500 FB members isn't the best indication of social media success. Not to say they won't buy but its harder to warm up a cold audience, but it still can be done with the more engagement and personal reachouts from you and the following tips! It takes work and patience but when you grow your groups deep and build those relationships it will be worth it. Besides you wanna get to know your people because its those deeper connections that make us human.

1. Create Contests! Contests are a great way to get NEW peeps to your group! It also can grab the attention of your current group members!

  • Comment to win – Participants leave a comment or answer a question

  • Caption contest – Either the best caption (you choose) or the one with the most likes wins

  • Fill-in-the-blank Contest – Ask participants to answer a trivia question

  • Photo contest – Either the best photo (you choose) or the one with the most likes wins

  • Multiple choice contest

  • Tips for a successful social media contest:

  • Promote it everywhere - Use your website, email list, and other social networks to drum up participation.

  • Do not give away prizes completely unrelated to your brand - For example, if you give away a new iPad, you might drive a lot of engagement and participation, but not necessarily from people who will eventually become customers or lifelong fans.

  • Follow the platform rules - Each social platform has its own rules and regulations around contests - here’s an overview of the key details.

  • Follow up with entrants who don’t win - Send them a thank you for participating, along with something about your brand/organization’s work.

2. ALWAYS include a picture, or attractive post with your content. Just leaving writing is boring!

  • Visuals are high-performers on social media, so be sure to include an eye-catching, colorful image or graphic with each post.

  • You can use free graphic design tools like Canva to add graphics to your blog entries and social media posts.

3. Post a video or share videos that will help your group! Go live too!

  • Videos are easy and quick! It also displays your products like a commercial. It shows a fun or quirky or informative/;leader with you in the videos!

.4. Listen to your current audience!

  • Do up a poll on things to figure out what your current group needs are

5. Change your FB profile/cover photos! AND your Group or page photos!

  • Make your BRAND Standout! You need every advantage! Does your FB profile reflect your Biz? Does your FB profile content represent your biz? Make sure you are posting things your ideal audience is interested in and make sure its tasteful.

  • BRAND yourself and your groups! Make a logo with group colours. Give it a catchy name that reflects your ideal client in it!

6. Attract your ideal client and give them a reason to actually want to follow you!

  • Write up posts that will attract the audience that you want. Make sure you use the proper content for your ideal client. ie if you want to attract women ages 50+ you are talking about anti aging creams, eye creams

  • Make your posts count! Make sure that if you are posting, there is a reason. Atrract clients with a CTA (Call to Action in your posts) Make it clear what the next steps are!

7. Encourage tagging

  • An effective strategy to engage your followers is to encourage them to tag other people who may benefit from, or enjoy a specific post. But a word of caution - ensure you employ this method sparingly and only where it makes sense, or it can look spammy.

8. Use hashtags to get found

  • Use hashtags on your posts that reflect what you are posting! This will help those searching for your type of products or your type of community

9. Have fun and be funny!

  • Use tasteful humour in posts, never put anyone down (that includes watching the content in your feed, you want to attract not repel peeps!)

10. Run ads

  • You could advertise your group on FB or your programs! But you may want to do this sparingly as to avoid costs especially if you are just starting out

11. Never, ever buy followers and fans

  • Don't buy followers! This may inflate your numbers, but they aren't buying as they are AI Bots. This would be frustrating posting to noone, am I right! Avoid this strategy because if your actual buyers find out it may change your credibility!
